Frequently Asked Questions
Through Exchange, Lotus, or Google Calendar I can see the schedules of others, so
why do I need MeetingMade?
Several reasons but let’s just focus on a few. First, what about meetings that you
need to schedule with people who are outside of your group that are not attached
to Exchange, Lotus or Google? You can’t see their schedules. Second, those applications
all require you and everyone else to meticulously maintain their calendars. Enough
said? How about having control over the available time that you want to share with
others as opposed to being forced to share.
Why doesn't MeetingMade cost money?
Well, we tried; but no one was interested in paying us anything.
You should know, however, that there’s no such thing as a free lunch. When you agree to a free
service, you typically give up your privacy either to bulk email marketers or invasive
targeted advertising – or both. Your privacy doesn’t just start with sharing only
your availability you also avoid all of the invasive targeted marketing that is
the revenue generating model of the ‘free’ service companies. Our competitors are VC-backed, and so their motivation is to turn whatever investment they have made in their product, oir marketing surrounding their product, in to revenue. This means that they are either selling adspace or selling your usage patterns, or both.
Since we think Meetingmade is super cool, and its not our primary line of business, we decided to keep it going indefinately becuase we already have the infrastructure in place. When the VC's site tanks, you can bet it will simply dissappear overnight.
How do I know that my information is Private?
MeetingMade is a secure site. Red Wolf Online creates and manages HIPPA-, COPPA- and PIPEDA-compliant sites for Government, Universities, and Fortune 50 companies; we know a thing or two about security. All email and contact information
is secure and encrypted for your protection. Also, our approach
is also to only ask for the information that is absolutely required from our clients
in order to conduct business.
But I like using my Outlook to schedule meetings! How does this work with my
Outlook?
MeetingMade is 100% compliant with Outlook. In fact, MeetingMade automates
and simplifies the process of determining the best time and then takes advantage
of the existing internet meeting request (icalendar) standards, so it will operate
from whatever calendar program you’re using, including Microsoft Outlook and Entourage, Apple ICal,
Google Calendar, Lotus Notes, and even mobile devices such as the iPhone, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices.
Is it possible to synchronize MeetingMade with an external Calendar such as Google Calendar, Outlook, or Lotus Notes?
Yes. For instructions on how to synchronize MeetingMade with an external calendar, see the Calendar Synchronization page and the specific documentation for synching each type of external calendar.
What problem is MeetingMade solving for me?
MeetingMade is eliminating the annoying back and forth that one typically has
to go through to set up a meeting. That’s compounded when there is a meeting that
needs to be scheduled between more than two parties.
How does MeetingMade differ from its competitors in solving my problem?
MeetingMade is browser-based and therefore, there’s no software to install. It is also platform and device independent. What MeetingMade does is collect and distributes the information
for the meeting organizer to quickly determine the optimal meeting time. We subscribe
to the philosophy of keeping things ‘stupid-simple’. Our users simply want to create
a meeting as fast as possible and be done with it. We don’t burn them with yet another
‘online, collaborative’ workspace. MeetingMade is a productivity tool, not a social
networking site.
How does MeetingMade save me time?
Think of the aggregate lost time of all the people, including you, negotiating
an appropriate meeting time. Our research shows that typical business professional
spends over 2 hours a month, simply scheduling meetings. MeetingMade can pare that
amount of time down into a few minutes. What’s eliminated is the continuous back
and forth required getting a meeting scheduled. Sometimes it takes longer to schedule
the meeting than the amount of time the meeting is scheduled for – and the more
people that need to be at the meeting, the longer it takes.
How much does MeetingMade cost?
It doesn’t cost you anything to try it and it's absolutely free during the Beta testing period. We
offer a free 30-day trial period. After which, a monthly subscription fee
will apply. There are no contracts so you can cancel at anytime.
What’s the payback?
Time is money. Think of all the time that
you can save in setting up meetings with colleagues, customers, friends and family; golf games, book clubs, poker nights, dinner and a movie, etc.
Can you share a MeetingMade account?
A MeetingMade account is bound to an email address. So, if you share an email
address with someone, you can share MeetingMade.
Can I change my email address?
Not at present. If you need to change your email address, you will have to register a new account.
